A podcast about America’s

First Ladies

by Taylor Pineiro

I don’t remember where I was when I first heard about Eleanor Roosevelt, probably 4th grade. Much, much later a friend recommended the three volumes of Eleanor’s life by Blanche Wiesen Cook. A few days later I found Volume I while browsing my in-laws bookshelves. It was kismet, I was hooked.

I started to read more about the incredible women who supported our Presidents. I became obsessed with their stories, their hardships, personalities, & connection to the American woman.

They are not all feminist heroes. Like all of use there is nuance in their lives. Personal ambitions, motherhood, wars, economic crises, loss, & love paint their time in and out of the White House.

I’m a lover of History. I have a BA in Art History and a Masters in Media Ecology from New York University, as well as an EMBA from the Quantic School of Business & Technology. I’m qualified only because I love these stories. I don’t love how they were told (or in many cases, never told) to me in the past. I want to look at them with fresh eyes & re-tell American History from a new perspective.

Let’s hear their stories.
